PETRON-Letran and Go for Gold-CSB have the same idea on their minds: boost their chances to the 2019 PBA D-League playoffs when they collide on Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Both teams have won two straight games. The match starts at 2 p.m. game.
For the Knights, with a 5-2 win-loss record, a chance to tighten their grip on the No. 3 spot in the Aspirants Group is on the line.
"Baka mabigyan tayo ng chance na makaabante sa next round, so every game, we have to prepare and execute," said coach Bonnie Tan.
Petron-Letran is coming off a tight 91-90 squeaker over St. Clare College Virtual Reality, where Alvin Pasaol and Jerrick Balanza took charge.
Meanwhile, the Scratchers have found their footing after a slow start to the season and coach Charles Tiu expressed glee with how his side are performing in the second half of the eliminations.
Go for Gold-CSB scored a big 101-92 triumph over Che'Lu Bar and Grill last April 15, with Roosevelt Adams and Justin Gutang showing the way.
"I like how we're battling and staying composed," said Tiu as he looks to improve his team's 3-3 slate.
St. Clare College Virtual Reality (4-2) is aiming to get back in the playoff hunt when it takes on McDavid (1-6) at 12 p.m., as Marinerong Pilipino (3-3) and Diliman College-Gerry's Grill (3-3) part ways in a Foundation Group duel at 4 p.m.
