TANDUAY recovered from a horrid start to edge MP Hotel, 69-58, in the in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Rhum Makers fell behind 2-21 but used a 19-5 second quarter to make it 27-29 at the half and take control in the third en route to their third win in seven games.
Jul-Ashri Ignacio scored 16 points, while Aljon Mariano had 12.
The game was tied at 43 with 4:06 left in the third quarter when the Rhum Makers rallied for a 53-47 lead and never looked back.
“Siguro 'yung bad habits na naman namin ang nangibabaw, ang maganda lang we woke up in time,”said Tanduay coach Lawrence Chongson.
“I give it also to MP Hotel, they started strong and they are really resilient. Yung talent lang siguro namin ang nangibabaw nung huli,” he added.
Reden Celda scored 14 points for MP Hotel, which dropped to 1-6.
