RACAL Motors notched its first victory of the conference on new coach Caloy Garcia’s first day in charge, downing MP Hotel, 74-65, on Monday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City
The Alibaba outscored MP Hotel, 23-12, going on a 10-0 run to cap the third period to move ahead, 60-45.
The Alibaba finally made the win column after three losses as Rain or Shine assistant coach Caloy Garcia took over from Jino Manansala.
“Nag-start lang kami nung Wednesday then I had to go to Davao on Friday (for Rain or Shine’s out-of-town game) so three days kaming hindi nagkita. Pero we still have a lot to work on. Nangangapa pareho, coaches and the players,” said Garcia.
The Alibaba had a balanced attack with all but two players scoring. Jeff Viernes and Raymond Jamito had nine points each while Raffy Reyes had eight.
The MP Hotel Warriors suffered their third loss in four games.
