AFTER dropping the 2016 PBA D-League Foundation Cup finals opener against Phoenix, Kevin Ferrer was left to rue Tanduay's pedestrian rebounding in Thursday's match at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna.
"Outrebounded kami," Ferrer pointed out moments after the 84-76 loss at the hands of the Accelerators.
Indeed, the Accelerators dominated the boards, 54-41, despite the Rhum Masters' size advantage. Worse, Phoenix made 22 second chance points, leading to the Tanduay's collapse in the waning minutes of the nip-and-tuck match.
But the series is far from over, insisted Ferrer.
"Meron pang chance. Hindi pa tapos yung series. Lahat ng mistakes namin ico-correct namin," said the former University of Santo Tomas top gun.
"Kayang kaya namin (sila talunin) kasi lamang nga kami for the most part e. Meron lang talagang mga lapses kaming pinagbayaran."
Tanduay coach Lawrence Chongson remains optimistic in defeat.
The outspoken tactician even believes they can duplicate what they did in the semifinals, where the Rhum Masters beat Racal in two games with their backs against the wall.
"Sabi ko nga, sa mga larong wala nang bukas, doon kami umaahon," said Chongson.
