CAIDA and Tanduay open hostilities in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup on January 21 at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The Tile Masters face the Rhum Masters at 2 p.m. in the first game of a doubleheader to start off the new conference of the PBA D-League, which delayed its season after the UAAP moved its season to end in December from September.
University of the Philippines-QRS/Jam Liner, meanwhile, plays in the second game against another team with a school tie-up in BDO-National University at 4 p.m.
An opening ceremony at 1 p.m. will open the sixth season of the developmental league.
Café France-Centro Escolar University, the Foundation Cup titlist last year, leads the nine-team cast that also includes Phoenix Petroleum, which will bring in the core of UAAP Season 78 champion Far Eastern University.
Also seeing action in the Aspirants' Cup are AMA University Online Education, Mindanao Aguilas, and Wangs Basketball.
Caida, formerly the Keramix/Racal Motors franchise, saw action in the PCBL Founders Cup where they finished second. Most of the players from the squad are also expected to see action in the D-League.
Café France begins play on January 25 at the Ynares Sports Arena against the Mindanao Aguilas, while Phoenix Petroleum and Wangs debut when they play against each other on the same day.
AMA starts off its conference against Caida on January 26 at the Ynares Sports Arena.
