PAMBOY Raymundo is glad to continue his strong play as one of the few veterans in a rookie-laden Cignal-San Beda in the PBA D-League.

With 21 points and three triples, the former pro Raymundo again ably backed up former La Salle star Jason Perkins as combined to lift the Hawkeyes over Racal in the opener of the Aspirants' Cup title series.

"Unang una majority ng team puro rookies sa league e," said Raymundo, who followed up a 17-point output against Tanduay in Game Three of the semifinals.

"So kailangan ko silang dalhin at i-lead para manalo kami this year."

The former NLEX player was also trying to set a good example for the Haweyes whose core is composed of college stars like Robert Bolick and Davon Potts.

Raymundo said his offensive onslaught the last two games was a result of the extra work at practice.

"Nagbubunga mga extra na ginagawa ko sa practice," he said. "Halos laging ako 'yung huling uuuwi, nag-eextra shooting ako kahit pagod na pagod. Nagugulat ako dito, shumu-shoot lang."

Raymundo said he is also looking to contribute more on defense as the Hawkeyes try to end the series in two.
