CIGNAL drained three consecutive treys in the final four minutes as the Hawkeyes drubbed Racal, 93-75, on Tuesday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Oping Sumalinog drilled in a triple with 3:42 left followed by back-to-back three pointers by Jason Perkins to give the Hawkeyes a 88-69 lead.
The Hawkeyes, who nearly blew a 23-point lead in the third period, never claimed their fifth win in seven games.
It was a good sendoff for Davon Potts, who will now shift his focus on the upcoming NCAA season with San Beda.
Potts led Cignal's balanced attack with 15 points on top of three rebounds and three assists.
Perkins finished with 14 points, Sumalinog added 11, while Pamboy Raymundo had 10 points and issued 10 assists.
"I'm happy that we won but I hate it that we gave up so many points and turnovers in the third quarter," said Cignal coach Boyet Fernandez.
The Alibaba outscored the Hawkeyes, 26-17, in the third before regaining control.
Rian Ayonayon had 26 points, eight rebounds and three steals for Racal, which absorbed its first loss in three outings.
