NLEX pounded Hog’s Breath Café, 91-58, for its third victory in as many games in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup on Tuesday at the Meralco Gym.
The Road Warriors took solo lead in the team standings before the league takes a one-week respite to give way to the PBA All-Stars weekend.
NLEX coach Boyet Fernandez said the focus for the game was on defense, looking to improve after the Road Warriors gave up more than 80 points in their last two games.
“I’m happy that we limited Hog’s to less than 60 points,” Fernandez said. “Our main goal is to limit them because in the last two games, we were giving up an average of 89 points. I’m happy with their defensive mentality.”
Ola Adeogun had 13 points and 12 rebounds while Jake Pascual tallied 12 points for the Road Warriors, who led by as many as 37 points in the game.
Hog’s Breath remained winless in three games.
