Hapee whips lowly LiverMarin for first win in Foundation Cup

HAPEE notched its first win of the conference, clobbering LiverMarin, 74-50, on Monday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the JCSGO gym.

Troy Rosario had 16 of his 20 points in the first half as the Fresh Fighters evened their record after an opening-game loss to Jumbo Plastic.

“Malaing panalo ito sa kumpiyansa ng mga bata. The more we play games together, the better. It’s a very new team,” said Hapee coach Ronnie Magsanoc.

Scottie Thompson had 11 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists for the Fresh Fighters, who took a 23-14 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

Chris Newsome and Mark Romero also had 11 points apiece for Hapee, which played without Bobby Ray Parks and Garvo Lanete as they recover from a shoulder and knee injury, respectively.

No player scored in double figures for the Guardians, winless in three games.
