TANDUAY and Batangas hope to stay in the hunt for second place when they square off in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup on Thursday.

The two teams currently tied at third spot with a 4-2 win-loss record slug it out at 3 p.m. at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Coming off a 141-65 rout of Zark's Burger, the Rhum Masters have no plans of slowing down as they're eyeing a top two berth after the elimination round.

“Yung game talaga against Batangas ang iniisip namin kasi gusto namin makapag-stay sa taas. Parang laglagan ang mangyayari dahil tied kami at three and four sa standings,” said Tanduay coach Lawrence Chongson, whose team set two D-League records in the win against the Jawbreakers.

Batangas coach Eric Gonzales, on the other hand, has modest goals for his team but that doesn't mean the Batanguenos won't go all out against a more experienced Tanduay.

“Honestly, we still lack experience compared with the Tanduay players,” said Gonzales.

“As a team, we will try our best to stay as close as possible so we will have a chance of winning."

Meanwhile, Racal (3-3) and Marinerong Pilipino (1-4) clash in the 5 p.m. match.
