Hawkeyes down Rhum Masters to gain share of second spot in Aspirants Cup

CIGNAL-San Beda trounced Tanduay, 85-71, on Thursday to gain a share of second place in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Robert Bolick led Cignal with 23 points, including the big baskets in the fourth period. He also had three rebounds and three assists.

Pamboy Raymundo scored 13 and Jayvee Mocon added 10 markers.

The Hawkeyes chalked up their fifth straight win to join Cafe France in second place at 5-1 behind Racal.

The Hawkeyes took a 66-55 lead on Robert Bolick's and-one play with under seven minutes remaining in the fourth period and the lead ballooned to 17 points, 83-66, with 54 ticks to go.

"Were happy we got this win. We really wanted this bec it will really help us in playoff positioning," said Cignal coach Boyet Fernandez.

Bong Quinto was the lone bright spot for the Rhum Masters, who reeled to a 3-3 card.

Quinto scored 20 points on top of seven rebounds, three rebounds, and two steals, but had seven turnovers.
