Racal turns back Tanduay to tighten grip on D-League top spot

RACAL tightened its hold on the top spot with a 90-81 win over Tanduay in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City on Thursday.

Philip Paniamogan and Jonathan Grey led Racal's attack with 17 points apiece. Dexter Maiquez and Chris Javier also added 12 markers each, while Jamil Ortuoste had 10.

The Tile Masters, who were coming off a huge win against Phoenix, grabbed a league-leading 9-2 win-loss record with the victory.

"I'm happy happy we won today's game. I kept on telling them to make it a habit," said Racal coach Caloy Garcia.

Racal held the Tanduay, who played without Kevin Ferrer, to just three-points in the final three minutes, while Paniamogan, Grey, and Joseph Terso combined to score the Tile Masters' last nine points.

Terso scored four straight points inside the final minute and Paniamogan made one from the foul line to seal the win for the Tile Masters.

Jaymo Eguilos scored 16 points in a losing cause for Tanduay, while Jeoff Javillonar and Val Acuña chipped in 14 and 13, respectively.
