Racal Motors pulls off narrow win to dash MJM Builders' quarterfinal hopes

RACAL Motors spoiled MJM M-Builders bid for the last playoffs spot, scoring a 94-92 win on Thursday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao, Quezon City.

It was only the third win in 10 games for the Alibaba, and the Builders also now hold a 3-7 mark.

Jeff Viernes led Racal Motors with 22 points, while Raymond Jamito and Mark Romero added 19 and 16 markers, respectively.

Racal trailed by five halfway in the fourth, 80-85, but fought back to take control.

Gelo Alolino and Glenn Khobuntin missed five of MJM M-Builders’ eight charity shots in the final two minutes as Racal Motors took the lead, 94-89, and held on for the win.

Far Eastern University star Mike Tolomia scored 22 points for MJM M-Builders, Alolino had 21, Khobuntin added 14 and Kyle Neypes chipped in with 12.
