Racal gets act together just in time to avert D-League collapse against Blustar
Racal's Jonathan Grey goes for a drive against Blustar.

RACAL blew a 30-point lead but held on for a 90-83 victory over Blustar KL Dragons in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City on Tuesday.

Philip Paniamogan led Racal with 20 points, including the final four free throws that rescued the Tile Masters from the jaws of defeat.

Raphael Banal and Jonathan Grey added 13 and 11 points, respectively, as Racal grabbed its seventh win in nine outings. Blustar plummeted to a 1-8 win-loss record.

"Nag-relax second group namin. But it's a good game. I'll take the win," said Racal coach Caloy Garcia.

After finishing the third quarter with a seemingly insurmountable 74-44 spread, the Tile Masters were held to just two points in the first six minutes of the fourth quarter.

The Dragons even sliced the deficit to just nine, 86-81, in the waning minutes. But the Tile Masters foiled the uprising, thanks in large part to Paniamogan's free throws.

Kuek Tian Yuan paced the Dragons with 22 markers.
