PERPETUAL big man Prince Eze sat out the second half of the Altas’ 69-81 loss to Go for Gold-CSB due to a rib injury he suffered early in the match on Tuesday in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup.

It wasn't clear how he got hurt, but Perpetual coach Frankie Lim said the Nigerian center either received an elbow or a punch that forced Eze out for the rest of the game after finishing with only six points, five rebounds and two steals in only 16 minutes of action.

"Nasaktan. Natamaan sa rib eh. Kung hindi siko yun, suntok yun," said Lim. "He got hurt. Pag umiikot siya, sumasakit. Di nakapaglaro."

The veteran coach was also uncertain with the severity of the injury but he’s optimistic that Eze can suit up in Perpetual’s next game against Batangas-EAC.

"I don't know. Sabi ko pagdating sa Perps, pa-X-ray na nila agad para makita. Suspetsa ko parang bruised lang,” said Lim, who felt the game got too physical. “Pero masyado nilang pinabayaan early on. Nasira tuloy yung laro. I mean, hindi yung laro namin, but nasira yung basketball ng mga bata eh."

"Hopefully by that time (okay na). Kasi 22nd ata yung laro namin against EAC. That's a good challenge for the team, lalo na sa mga starters na dapat nagiistep up," he added.
