THE PBA is planning to put up a showcase event for the PBA D-League to give scouts a chance to see the top players up close.

PBA officer in charge Willie Marcial bared during the opening ceremonies of the Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena on Thursday the league’s intention to put up an event where they will invite PBA coaches to see the players in a two-day event.

The PBA’s plan is similar to the NBA's G-League Showcase in which all of the D-League teams will play under one roof for pro league scouts to see for potential call-ups.

Marcial added the PBA will also invite coaches from neighboring countries particularly in the Southeast Asian region who might want to acquire the services of Filipino players.

The 13 teams showed up in the traditional parade of teams as well as their muses led by teen actress Bianca Umali and Daiana Menezes.

“Kayo ang future ng PBA,” said Marcial.

Marcial encouraged the players to polish their craft as it is in the D-League where they can develop into PBA-ready cagers.
