CEBUANA Lhuillier and two other teams go for the early lead in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup against separate foes on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Gems face MP Hotel at 2 p.m. as they go for their second consecutive win following their nail-biting win in their conference opener.

Also seeking a 2-0 win-loss slate are KeraMix, which will play Liver Marin at 4 p.m., and AMA University, up against Aspirants Cup runners-up Cagayan Valley at 12 noon.

Cebuana Lhuillier came back from 21 points down against Café France on Monday to post a slim victory over the Bakers with new signing Moala Tautuaa hitting the marginal free throw with 2.7 seconds to play to give the Gems the victory.

Tautuaa also contributed 34 points and 13 rebounds in his debut with the Gems after transferring from Cagayan Valley.

After nearly losing their first game of the conference, Cebuana Lhuillier coach Boycie Zamar said they don’t want to take MP Hotel lightly.

“We can’t take things lightly. We have to go back to the drawing board,” Zamar said.

KeraMix and AMA also look to start off the conference with a bang following victories on opening day.

The Mixers, formerly Racal Motors, opened with an 87-60 win over MP Hotel with Jeff Viernes sparking the team with 20 points. The Titans, on the other hand, downed new team Liver Marin, 89-81.
