CAIDA Tiles took the solo lead in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup with a 110-106 victory over Wangs Basketball on Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Arena.

Jiovani Jalalon had 22 points and nine assists while Jason Perkins had 19 points and 14 rebounds. He also hit the three-pointer that broke a 97-97 deadlock with 2:06 left in the fourth quarter.

The Tile Masters held on in the final two minutes to improve to a 3-0 win-loss.

Caida led by as many as 15 points in the third quarter but saw it evaporate with head coach Caloy Garcia lamenting the calls of the referees.

“I was a bit confused  because when we are up, suddenly everything is a touch foul on our side,” said Garcia, a deputy of Yeng Guiao at Rain or Shine.

“I just have to watch what we were doing wrong on the defensive side kasi hindi naman siguro nag-relax ‘yung mga players. I think they were just confused,” Garcia added.

Jonathan Grey added 17 points for the Tile Masters.

Francis Munsayac, John Montemayor, and James Mangahas chipped in 18 points each for Wangs, which fell to 1-2.
