CAFÉ France-Centro Escolar University leaned on Paul Zamar and Rodrigue Ebondo to beat BDO-National University, 110-86, on Thursday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena.

Zamar had 12 of his 22 points in the first half, while Ebondo scored 19 points including 11 in the second period as the Bakers scored their second win in as many tries.

Café France coach Egay Macaraya wasn’t too impressed with the win, though, noting they faced an understrength BDO-NU team missing main man Alfred Aroga.

“Wala si Aroga, that’s it. They have a great team pero wala si Aroga who is our biggest problem,” said Macaraya.

Behind the effort of Ebondo, the Bakers unleashed a 27-12 second quarter to take a 48-33 halftime lead and never looked back.

Carl Bryan Cruz had 15 points, John Carlo Casino scored 12 and Aaron Jeruta added 11 points for the Bakers.

Matt Salem added 17 points for the Bulldogs, winless in two games.
