PAUL Desiderio headlines the next prodigies taking a step closer in achieving their dreams of making it to the pros when the 2018 PBA D-League Foundation Cup commences on Monday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The ever-reliable UP guard will captain the ship for a loaded Go for Gold crew when it makes its debut against Batangas at 3 p.m.

But it’s not all Desiderio, as the Charles Tiu-coached Scratchers have also enlisted the services of reliable forwards Gab Banal and Vince Tolentino, high-scoring shooter James Martinez, and ex-pros Jai Reyes and Jerwin Gaco.

Go for Gold is coming in as the favorites in its conference-opener, but the Generals aim to score the upset with Cedric de Joya acting as its leader.

In the day’s curtain-raiser, early favorite Marinerong Pilipino aims to match the expectations vested on it when it tests the mettle of AMA Online Education at 1 p.m.

Fil-Am guards Trevis Jackson and Robbie Manalang will spearhead the fight for the Skippers as coach Koy Banal fields a rejigged group with the core made up of the TIP Engineers.

Also, the game will serve as the debut of the Titans’ top overall pick Owen Graham after missing the first conference due to eligibility issues.
