Pacquiao's MP Hotel Warriors looking to mirror KIA's winning debut in PBA D-League

MANNY Pacquiao’s PBA D-League ballclub will usher in the new season in an opening day tripleheader on Monday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Pacquiao’s MP Hotel Warriors mark their D-League debut with an Aspirants Cup game against one of the league’s pioneers, Café France, beginning at 12 noon following an opening ceremony at 11 a.m.

The Warriors will be loking to repeat the feat of Pacquiao's PBA team, KIA Sorento, which debuted with a victory over Blackwater Elite in the pro league's opening game at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan on Sunday.

The Warriors, managed Manny’s brother Bobby Pacquiao, is coached by former San Sebastian Stag Arvin Bonleon and will have players coming from different parts of the country including Rene Pacquiao, the second cousin of the Filipino boxing champion.

Cebuana Lhuillier takes on another debuting team in Racal Motorsales at 2 p.m. before AMA University faces Wangs Basketball at 4 p.m.

In the second playdate on October 30 at the Ynares Arena, MP Hotel will also be seeing action against Wangs Basketball at 2 p.m. Cagayan Valley collides with MJM M-Builders/Far Eastern University at 12 noon while Bread Story-Lyceum battles Jumbo Plastic Linoleum at 4 p.m.

Highly-favored Hapee begins its campaign on November 3 against AMA University at 12 noon with a star-studded lineup that includes Bobby Ray Parks, Arnold Van Opstal, Garvo Lanete, and Troy Rosario.

Jumbo Plastic Linoleum clashes with Cebuana Lhuillier on the same day at 2 p.m. while Tanduay Light unfurls its campaign against MJM M-Builders at 4 p.m.
