Maverick Ahanmisi stars as Cafe France dismantles MJM Builders

FIL-American Maverick Ahanmisi scored 31 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to power Café France to an 82-73 win over MJM Builders in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Ahanmisi went 4 for 9 from the 3-point line as the Bakers improved their win-loss record to 5-1.

Bong Galanza and Rodrigue Ebondo chipped in 10 markers apiece for Café France.

"It was all because of my teammates, it all goes to them," he said.

The 23-year-old Ahanmisi hit back-to-back baskets to give Café France a 63-59 lead.

"We are comfortable and we can handle pressure really well even in close games" said Ahanmisi.

National U standouts Glenn Khobuntin and Gelo Alolino finished with 15 and 11 points, respectively, for MJM Builders, while Far Eastern University’s Mike Tolomia and Carl Cruz combined for 21 markers.
