Fil-foreigners Matthew Wright, Jason Brickman skipping PBA D-League stint to take act to Europe
Fil-Canadian guard Matthew Wright is taking his act to Europe.

MATTHEW Wright and Jason Brickman are taking their talents to Europe instead of suiting up for Blustar Detergent Dragons in the coming PBA D-League Foundation Cup.

Blustar coach Ariel Vanguardia bared that Wright and Brickman will not be part of the 2016 ABL champs Westport Malaysia Dragons core that will play under Blustar as they are leaning towards accepting offers to play for European teams.

“They have offers in Europe so they are skipping the D-League,” said Vanguardia.

Wright and Brickman had impressive stints in the last season of the ABL. Wright, a Fil-Canadian guard, was even named Best Asean import of the season while the Fil-American Brickman copped the Finals MVP award when the Dragons captured the crown by beating the Singapore Slingers.

However, Vanguardia remains confident as he plans to bring in two players from sister team Blackwater in the PBA to beef up their D-League lineup.

“We might borrow two players from Blackwater,” said Vanguardia, who is also an assistant coach of Blackwater in the PBA.
