Marvin Hayes comes up huge in Jumbo debut, lifts Giants over Titans

MARVIN Hayes scored 22 points including the go-ahead free throw to lift Jumbo Plastic Linoleum to a 79-78 win over AMA on Thursday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Hayes split his free throws with 53.9 seconds in the fourth to break a 78-all deadlock, and the Giants held on for their third win in six outings.

AMA came up empty on its next possessions to fall to a 3-5 win-loss slate.

It was Hayes’ first game with Jumbo Plastic after being released by Hapee.

“Marvin Hayes really came out to prove something,” said Jumbo Plastic coach Steve Tiu. “It was a big win for us.”

AJ Mandani had 14 points and four assists, while Paul Sanga added 10 points for the Giants.
