MARINERONG Pilipino came out strong after a long break, clobbering AMA Online Education, 109-93, in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup on Monday at the Pasig City Sports Center.

Returning from an 11-day layoff, the Skippers showed no sign of rust as they zoomed to a 36-16 start against the retooled Titans.

Marinerong Pilipino harldy slowed down on their way to their third straight victory for a 4-2 card while sending the Titans crashing back to Earth.

AMA Online Education failed to sustain the momentum from a 96-93 win over Batangas-EAC, suffering its fifth loss in six outings.

Gab Banal had 20 points, 14 rebounds and four assists for the Skippers, who scored seven quick points to set the tone for the rest of the match.

Rian Ayonayon put up an all-around outing of 18 markers, six boards, five assists and four blocks.

Arvin Tolentino scored 18 points, while Robbie Manalang added 15 markers, four rebounds and four assists for the Titans.
