KERAMIX grabbed a share of the early lead in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup after beating Livermarin, 89-71, on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Mixers led by as many as 22 points to dominate the Guardians for a 2-0 win-loss record.

KeraMix now shares the lead with Cebuana Lhuillier, its opponent next week.

“I think we had a good start. Other players were stepping up. The nice thing is that we still have two players not playing so I hope we become a better team,” said KeraMix coach Caloy Garcia, who celebrated his birthday on Thursday.

“Birthday lang. Ngayon happy na,” said Garcia in jest.

Luis Sinco and Jeff Viernes scored 12 points each, leading the balanced attack of the Mixers, who lost Jiovanni Jalalon after a bad fall in the second quarter while trying to challenge a triple by Livermarin’s Jamil Ortouste.

KeraMix’s big man Jam Jamito was slapped with a second flagrant foul and was ejected from the match.

Livermarin is winless in two matches.
