TANDUAY coach Lawrence Chongson did not want to any waste time celebrating, noting they only have a couple of days to prepare for a big fightback from top seed Cignal San Beda.

The Rhum Masters scored a stunning win in the opener of the best-of-three series but Chongson said the battle is definitely far from over.

"It's a best-of-three series. We haven't really won anything yet. We're gonna go back to the drawing board, we have less than 48 hours to prepare," said Chongson after the match at the Marikina Sports Complex.

"Luckily we just caught them flat sa umpisa at yung game plan namin sa defense nasunod."

Game Two is on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig, and Chongson is expecting no less than a cutthroat battle against coach Boyet Fernandez and a Hawkeyes side bannered by college stars Jason Perkins, Robert Bolick, Davon Potts, and Javee Mocon.

"Definitely, they will come out strong. May chemistry sila at they have a good mix of veterans and young players out there," said Chongson.

"I'm sure Cignal will come up with adustments. Makakapag magic pa yan so we have to watch out," he added.

Chongson will lean again on veterans Jerwin Gaco, Mark Cruz, and Lester Alvarez to lead the Rhum Masters' attack but he is hoping the rest of the team will step up anew on defense.

He is wary of Cignal's full-court press, which he believed pushed his players to the limit in Tuesday's tussle. He cited an instance where Cruz cramped up in the final stretch after the Hawkeyes employed a press in the hope of turning things around.

"Probably may kaunting adjustment lang kami sa pag break ng press. Yung press nila kailangan naming paghandaan," he said.
