JUMBO Plastic Linoleum overcame a 16-point deficit to beat Bread Story-Lyceum, 79-72, on Thursday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Jaymo Eguilos, Joseph Terso, and Dexter Maiquez led the Giants’ fightback after falling behind, 32-16, in the second period.

Eguilos had all of his 14 points in the second half while Terso and Maiquez completed back-to-back three-point plays that put the Giants ahead for good, 64-58, midway in the fourth.

Terso finished with 11 points and Maiquez had 10.

“Medyo may jitters pa ’yung mga players. Hindi maka-settle down. ’Yun lang siguro advantage namin dahil experienced ’yung mga players namin,” said Jumbo Plastic coach Steve Tiu.

“‘Yun lang ang nagdala kasi masama ang execution namin, lousy sa defense sa first three quarters,” added Tiu, whose Giants will next Cebuana Lhuillier in a battle of undefeated teams on Monday.

Brian Heruela, on loan from Blackwater Sports in the PBA, had five points, eight rebounds, nine assists, and three steals for the Giants.

Joseph Gabayni finished with 18 points for the Smashing Bakers.
