Batangas scores second straight victory, eliminates winless Blustar

BATANGAS seized control early and cruised to a 92-68 victory on Tuesday, eliminating Blustar Detergent from the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao.

Joseph Sedurifa put up a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds to go with four assists and two blocks as Batangas scored back-to-back victories.

Dan Sara scored 14, while Cedrick Ablaza had 13 points.  

Batangas, coming off a win over Wangs, improved its win-loss record to 3-4 win-loss haul while keeping the Dragons winless in six outings. 

With a balanced attack, the Batanguenos took a 46-30 lead at the half and padded it to 82-58 early in the fourth period. 

"Syempre kung kaya manalo, ipapanalo. But it's a process and we are not in a hurry. Lahat ng nangyayari samin ngayon puro bonus na lang," said Batangas coach Eric Gonzales. 

Tristan Perez and Jason Melano carried most of the load for the skidding Dragons. 

Perez had 19 points while Melano had an all-around perfomance of 17 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two blocks.

Blustar 68 - Perez 19, Melano 17, Liaw 12, Mak 6, Kwaan 6, Ong 5, Choong 2, Ang 1, Gan 0, Heng 0, Kamalrulzaman 0, Liew 0, Mokles 0, Chin 0.

Quarterscores: 19-13; 46-30; 72-56; 92-68.
