Adamson bounces back with victory over AMA, tightens hold on second spot

AKARI-Adamson regained its winning ways, beating AMA Online Education, 100-89, in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup on Monday at the Pasig City Sports Center.

The Falcons strengthened their hold on the second spot with a 5-2 win-loss record, while handing the Titans their fifth loss in six matches.

It was a back-and-forth tussle, with the Titans even leading 35-33 late in the second period before Jerrick Ahanmisi sparked a 13-0 run with two triples for a 45-35 lead.

Ahanmisi fired game-high 26 points, making 7 of 8 three-point attempts, and also had three rebounds and four assists.

Cameroonian import Papi Sarr, who sat out the team's 57-76 loss to Centro Escolar University last week, came up with 15 points, 18 rebounds and two blocks.

Former Adamson playmaker Robbie Manalang had 21 points, five rebounds and two assists for AMA.

Mac Andaya added 15 points, seven rebounds and two assists, while Jay-R Taganas registered a double-double of 14 points and 13 boards to go with five dimes and two steals.
