THE legion of Gaconatics can heave a sigh of relief as Go for Gold coach Charlies Tiu allayed fears of a serious injury on Jerwin Gaco after the veteran cager went down late in a loss to Akari-Adamson on Tuesday.

Tiu assured Gaco can play in the Scratchers’ next game, despite the former PBA cager was seen wincing in pain as he held his right thigh after a collision with Falcons big man Papi Sarr late in the fourth period of Go for Gold’s 92-98 loss in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup.

Gaco left the game with still 1:35 remaining.

The Scatchers were in the middle of a furious comeback from 25 points down, before the Falcons held them off in the final stretch.

The Go for Gold coach said Gaco will be ready to play on Tuesday for the Scratchers’ next match against Perpetual.

"He should be back next game. Nothing serious," Tiu said.
