Paniamogan caps Racal's late rally with game-winning triple to stun Phoenix and take solo lead

PHILIP Paniamogan nailed the game-winning trey as Racal gained solo leadership in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup with a thrilling 90-88 win over Phoenix at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City on Tuesday.

Paniamogan hit that booming triple in the face of RR Pogoy with 3.1 ticks to go, right after Ed Daquioag uncorked a three-pointer that gave temporarily gave Phoenix an 88-87 lead.

The win propelled the Tile Masters to the top of the standings with an 8-2 win-loss record.

Paniamogan finished with 13 points, including eight in the final quarter, where the Tile Masters erased an eight-point deficit on the way to the win.

Joseph Terso also made his presence felt in the final minutes, hitting two triples and a steal that led to a Paniamogan layup, slicing what was once 81-73 deficit to one, 85-84.

Dexter Maiquez led Racal with 19 markers to go with five rebounds.

"I'm happy with how we finished the game," said Racal coach Caloy Garcia, who relied on his second group down the stretch.

Phoenix fell to an 7-3 card for a share of the third spot with the Tanduay Rhum Masters.

RR Pogoy paced the Accelerators with game-high 22 points, while Mac Belo and Mike Tolomia added 20 and 18, respectively.
