Blustar KL Dragons came out on top in the battle of two cellardwellers  in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup.

Blustar kept the win-starved Topstar ZC Mindanao Aguilas winless in a tight contest, 98-93, at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City on Tuesday.

Juami Tiongson led all scorers with 32 points, built on six three-pointers. Tian Yuan Kuek and Yi Hou Wong added 21 and 14 points, respectively, for the Dragons, who improved to a 2-9 win-loss record.

"There are many things to learn for our players," said Blustar coach Chang Huat Goh.

"At least we got two wins in this league. We have our final game against Phoenix, we'll definitely try our best," he added.

The Aguilas did not go down without a fight as they battled back from 11 points down, with a chance to win the game, but Dexter Garcia's three-point attempt with 10 ticks to go rimmed out.

Tiongson and Wong Yi Hou then hit three of the last four free throws to seal the victory.

Topstar remained winless in 10 outings.

Jul-Ashri Ignacio and Gino Gumao-As paced the Aguilas with 22 and 19 markers, respectively.
