PHOENIX edged winless Blustar, 97-94, on Thursday to maintain its lead at the PBA D-League Foundation Cup.

Ed Daquioag scored 25 points and Mike Tolomia added 20 as the Accelerators scored their fourth victory in as many games.

It was a big win for the Accelerators after Mac Belo got ejected with an early flagrant 2 foul, while Roger Pogoy got into trouble entering the last quarter.

The Accelerators were never in full control, allowing the Dragons 10 second chance points and 19 fast break points.

The Dragons even led by seven points.

“Sabi ko check your heart kasi sobrang complacent natin,” Phoenix head coach Eric Gonzales said, frustrated as the Accelerators continued to make the same mistakes from past games.

“Naobserbahan namin, kahit sa practice na rerecord namin, parang human tendency. Pero ang good news ay nairaos namin.” Gonzales said.
