JUMBO Plastic Linoleum bounced back from a stunning defeat three days ago, venting its ire on AMA University, 82-59, on Thursday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Dexter Maiquez scored 17 points to help Jumbo Plastic improve its win-loss record to 5-2 and get back on track after bowing to Racal Motors on Monday.

Jaymo Eguilos came up with 16 points and Joseph Terso added 13 for Jumbo Plastic.

AMA, which entered the match on a two-game winning streak, played without Philip Paniamogan and slid to 3-4.

Giants head coach Steve Tiu said his wards have learned their lesson after bowing to also-ran Racal Motors.

“We want to prove na walang mahina, walang malakas,” said Tiu. “Kailangan well-prepared lagi. Walang complacency.”

The Giants gave up the first two points of the game but only allowed two more points in the first quarter as they led, 16-4, entering the second.

The scores:

Jumbo Plastic (82) – Maiquez 17, Eguilos 16, Terso 13, Cruz 9, Javier 6, Magat 5, Rosales 4, King 4, Rios 4, Petilos 3, Villamor 1.
