Fan favorite Jerwin Gaco is expected to be abig boost for the BLazers in the PBA Developmental League.

COLLEGE of St. Benilde is looking to tap former PBA player Jerwin Gaco to beef up its PBA D-League team.

CSB assistant coach Charles Tiu posted on Twitter that the Blazers will have Gaco as reinforcement, although head coach TY Tang said they are still working out the details.

“So our CSB D-League team will be having Jerwin Gaco. #gaconatics cheer for us,” wrote Tiu on his Twitter account.

“Nothing final pa,” said Tang in an SMS message to SPIN.ph.

Tang was a teammate of Gaco at the La Salle in the 2000s.

Under Tang’s leadership, the Blazers went 4-14 in NCAA Season 92, and the 36-year-old Gaco’s addition to the CSB D-League team is expected to be a big boost in their preparation for the next NCAA season.

Tiu also tweeted that the team is trying to convince Tang to also play for the Blazers.

“Now we are trying to convince our coach @TYTang_11 to come out of retirement and play for us too. For the DLSU connection,” wrote Tiu.

But Tang shrugged off the tweet.

“Siya ang lalaro,” said Tang in jest, referring to Tiu.
