CIGNAL looks to become just the third team to achieve a championship double in the PBA D-League as the Hawkeyes try to finish off the Centro Escolar University Scorpions in the Foundation Cup finals on Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The Hawkeyes are hoping to join the NLEX Road Warriors and Phoenix Accelerators as the only teams to claim the Aspirants Cup and Foundation Cup in one season.

Although they breezed through the Scorpions in the opener, Cignal coach Boyet Fernandez is bracing for a tough match in the second game of the best-of-three series. The game starts at 5 p.m.

"It’s not yet over until it’s over," said Fernandez following the 78-56 win in Game One.

"I have lot of respect for coach Yong (Garcia) and I’m sure they'll find a way. This is a team capable of coming back and if you give them that chance then we have a problem."

CEU, indeed, is no stranger to a situation where its back is against the wall.

To arrange a finals showdownagainst the Hawkeyes, the Scorpions did the improbable, stunning top seed Flying V in the semifinals.

CEU needs others to deliver and support import Rod Ebondo, who had 27 points and 17 rebounds in the opener.

"No quit pa rin kami," Garcia said.
