CIGNAL-San Beda bucked a slow start to blast Blustar Detergent, 109-79, on Thursday in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Robert Bolick and Byron Villarias scored 15 points apiece for the Hawkeyes, who led by just one after the first quarter.

Davon Potts scored 13 points including nine in the first half, while Ben Adamos added 10 points and six rebounds as San Beda joined Cafe France in second spot at 4-1 behind Racal (5-0).

"We were not making our shots in the first quarter. I give credit to the guys who played in the last part of the second quarter, they really made some stops and scored and eventually the score went up to 14 points," said Cignal coach Boyet Fernandez whose team took a 47-33 lead heading into halftime break.

Filipino reinforcements Tristan Perez and Jason Melano carried most of the load for the Dragons but their efforts were just not enough to keep the team from absorbing their fourth loss in as many games.

On loan from Blackwater, Perez had 29 points in his first game with the Dragons, while Melano had an all-around outing of 15 points, five rebounds, five assists and two blocks.
