Cignal-San Beda bucks slow start to rout Tanduay and seal D-League finals clash vs Racal

CIGNAL-San Beda overcame a slow start and went full throttle in the middle quarters to hack out an 88-65 victory over Tanduay and claim the last finals berth in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig on Tuesday.

Pamboy Raymundo finished with 17 points for the Hawkeyes, who arranged a finals clash against Racal. 

Game One of the best-of-three series is on Thursday at the same venue.

Javee Mocon scored 15 points, while Jason Perkins had a double double of 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Hawkeyes.

Cignal outscored the Rhum Masters, 57-26 in the second and third quarters after trailing 18-11 in the opening period.

"It was a total team effort. Players believed in the system," said Cignal coach Boyet Fernandez.

"The boys didn't really want to lose the ball game." 

Jerwin Gaco paced the Rhum Masters with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Mark Cruz added 13 markers and 10 rebounds.
