CEBUANA Lhuillier defeated MP Hotel, 93-62, on Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City to enter the quarterfinals in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup on a winning note.

Norbert Torres had 22 points, eight rebounds, and six assists to lead the Gems in finishing the elimination round with a 7-4 win-loss card.

Still, Cebuana Lhuillier coach Boycie Zamar remained confident and said they should not focus on the incentive in the quarterfinal round.

“Baguhin lang ’yung mindset namin sa game entering the quarterfinals,” said Zamar, who the night before helped San Miguel Beer win the PBA Philippine Cup title on Wednesday. Zamar is one of the assistants of Beermen head coach Leo Austria.
