CAIDA coach Caloy Garcia is glad to see Philip Paniamogan make his presence felt early after joining the team, and is counting on another newly activated player Ford Ruaya to deliver for the Tile Masters in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup.

Paniamogan, a former Jose Rizal University Heavy Bomber, scored 19 points in Caida’s victory over Phoenix Petroleum-Far Eastern University on Monday.

“I think the entry of Paniamogan gave us more talent because that’s what we need. We need another shooter. After (Janus) Lozada and Roider (Cabrera), we need somebody who will be effective especially sa zone. And I think that’s what he can bring to the team,” said Garcia.

Meanwhile, he expects Ruaya to be a role player for the Tile Masters, defending in the small and power forward spots.

“I think we are a little bit small in the 3 spot. That’s why when we got Ford back in the line-up, medyo lumaki kami kasi after Jonathan (Grey), at least we have somebody who can defend in the 3 and 4 spot,” said Garcia.

The Tile Masters are running second in the team standings with a 4-1 win-loss record behind Café France (5-0), and Garcia just hopes the players would perform consistently as one.

“It doesn’t matter how strong your depth is. It’s how they play as a team,” said Garcia.
