Cafe France downs Racal Motors to grab a share of D-League lead

CAFÉ France held Racal Motors scoreless in the final four and a half minutes to post a 67-56 victory on Thursday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Jeff Viernes put Racal Motors within two points, 56-58, with 4:30 left in the fourth but the Alibaba were not able to score after that.

Mon Abundo and Jonar Huertas had 12 points each, while Maverick Ahanmisi chipped in 10 as Café France scored its second win in as many games and joined Jumbo Plastic Linoleum and Cagayan Valley at the top of the standings.

“The maturity showed in the last quarter especially on defense. Even though Racal Motors was converting long triples, it was still good defense on our part kasi malalayo,” said Café France coach Egay Macaraya.
