NEW Racal coach Jerry Codinera said the Tile Masters are still trying to get their feet wet with less than a month of training under their belt.

But the outcome of their first game in the PBA D-League Asirants' Cup, though, said otherwise.

With a balanced attack, the Tile Masters disposed of Blustar Detergent, 109-58 on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Six players finished in double figures, led by Rey Nambatac with 16 points, while Donald Gumaru and Sydney Onwubere had 14 and 12, respectively. Roider Cabrera and Lervin Flores added 11 apiece, while Allan Mangahas chipped in 10.

Codinera attributes the solid performance of his team to the excitement of his wards in putting up a good first impression, but warned that they have plenty of room for improvement, starting with their chemistry.

"Lahat kasi excited mag-perform kasi syempre D-League to, one step closer sa PBA so lahat talaga gusto magpakita," said Codinera after the dominant victory where they led by as much as 53 points.

"Di pa evident yung chemistry ng team. Hinahanap pa namin right combination," he added.

Codinera hopes they figure things out before they take on Jeron Teng and AMA Online Education next Tuesday.

"Malakas yun," said Codinera of the Titans, who opened their campaign with a rousing win over new team Batangas. "We have to find a way to limit Jeron and Jay-R Taganas. Hopefully it will work for the team."
