FATIGUE caught up with Gamboa Coffee Mix standout Aris Dionisio in the final stretch of their 68-75 loss to Go for Gold-CSB in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup on Monday.

With under a minute left and the Coffee Lovers trailing 68-73, Dionisio botched all three bonus shots that led to Jerwin Gaco's free throws that sealed Go for Gold’s comeback win.

The 6-foot-5 beanpole admitted he simply ran out of gas as he hardly rested in the last three quarters after sitting out much of the first quarter due to foul trouble.

"Dala lang din siguro ng pagod e. Second quarter at third quarter, nilabas ako one minute lang. Tapos fourth wala na labasan. Nabitin lang stamina ko," said the St. Clare main man, who logged in almost 33 minutes.

Still, it was a solid outing for Dionisio, who finished with 19 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block.

But as impressive as his showing was, Dionisio would have preferred to come away with the win. Fortunately, the St. Clare big man has plenty of time to work on his stamina as Gamboa won't play until next week, Monday, against Batangas-EAC Generals.

"Mas mataas pa siguro yung minutes na ilalaro ko kasi nung first quarter nga 5 minutes lang ako nilaro kasi may 2 fouls agad," he said. "One week pa before second game kaya yung stamina muna yung ii-improve ko."
