    National U-BDO ends Aspirants Cup campaign on bright note, whips Derulo for third straight win

    NATIONAL University-Banco De Oro wrapped up its campaign in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup on a high note, defeating Derulo Accelero, 83-57, for its third straight win on Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan.

    Bobby Ray Parks had 23 points, nine rebounds, and three assists for the Bulldogs, who used the second and third quarters to pull away from the Oilers.

    The Bulldogs actually had a flat start and fell to an 8-16 deficit at the end of the first quarter, but outscored the Oilers, 46-22, in the middle quarters.

    NU-BDO ended the conference with a 5-8 win-loss card, and head coach Eric Altamirano expressed satisfaction with how the Bulldogs played.

    “Nakakasabay na kami sa banggaan, that is what’s lacking nung last season namin sa UAAP, composure, physicality. In that aspect, na-achieve namin ’yung goal namin,” said Altamirano.

    Troy Rosario had 11 points, nine rebounds, and three steals, while Joshua Alolino added 11 points, five rebounds, and six assists for NU-BDO.

    Derulo Accelero finished the conference with a 1-12 slate.

    NU-BDO (83) – Parks 23, Rosario 11, Alolino 11, Perez 8, Khobuntin 8, Roño 7, Neypes 6, Labingisa 5, Celda 2, Javelona 2, Villamor 0, De Guzman 0.

    Derulo Accelero (57) – Corpuz 17, Soyud 11, Morillo 6, Manuel 5, Gingerich 5, Bautista 5, Wierzba 2, Wong 2, Juruena 2, Importante 2, Olondriz 0, Roncal 0, Dilay 0, Eman 0.

    Quarterscores: 8-16; 29-28; 54-38; 83-57.
