WHILE coaches usually get ejected for continuous complaining, Nash Racela surprisingly was sent off for coming into contact with a referee.
The affable and usually mild-mannered mentor picked up two technical fouls in MJM’s 79-66 loss to Hapee Toothpaste on Monday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Arena in Pasig.
Racela complained about a non-call on Fresh Fighter Ola Adegoun, who the coach felt was repeatedly allowed to get away with offensive fouls against his wards.
“Tulak ng tulak si Ola, pero wala pa ring tawag,” Racela said.
Referees called a first technical foul on Racela for entering the court, before assessing a second T for "physically contacting" an official to get thrown out with 52 seconds to go before halftime.
But Racela insisted his contact with the official happened while he tried to demostrate to the referee how he saw Adeogun push his players.
Builders forward Gryann Mendoza was also sent off early in the third quarter after he was also called a technical foul for also getting into contact with a referee.
