Moala Tautuaa puts fitting end to brief D-League career by winning MVP award

MOALA Tautuaa of Cebuana Lhuillier was named the PBA D-League Foundation Cup Conference MVP on Monday.

Tautuaa edged out players from finalists Hapee and Café France, among them Troy Rosario, Chris Newsome and Maverick Ahanmisi, to put a fitting end to his brief D-League career.

The Fil-Tongan is the projected No. 1 pick overall in the next PBA rookie draft. He received his award prior to Game Two of the finals between Hapee and Cafe France.

Tautuaa averaged a league-best 20.22 points during the eliminations while adding 11.333 rebounds per outing in leading the Cebuana Lhuiiller to a 9-2 win-loss record.

The Gems, however, lost to Hapee in the playoffs.
