THE ZC Mindanao Aguilas will continue to participate in the PBA D-League despite a heartbreaking early exit from the Aspirants Cup.

The ZC Mindanao Aguilas missed the quarterfinals after winning only one game in seven games but team manager Sergie Ben Orillo said several games were very close and the results were actually impressive for a new team.

“Lumaban mga players ng Zamboanga kahit bago ’yung team,” said Orillo.

“Babawi kami sa second conference.”

Orillo said the squad also plans to lure more players from Mindanao to beef up the line-up. One of their targets is Mike Tolomia, who is from Zamboanga. He also said Topstar will also be supporting the Aguilas’ next campaign.

“Sana makalaro si Mike Tolomia sa kanyang city. We will welcome him with open arms,” said Orillo.

It was the pro-bound Tolomia who helped the Phoenix Accelerators win the game against the Aguilas in their final game of the conference, registering a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds in the 90-80 win.
