JAMES Canlas fired 14 of his 16 points in the first quarter to guide Metropac-San Beda to a breezy 119-70 blowout of CD14 Designs-Trinity Tuesday in the 2019 PBA D-League at JCSGO Gym in Cubao.
The Fil-Canadian guard was the catalyst in the Movers' 18-3 kickoff that set the tone for the 49-point dismantling.
"Medyo maganda ang simula namin. Gusto ko lang makita ang attitude ng players namin how they react in this game, lalo na we're facing a winless team," said coach Boyet Fernandez.
Clint Doliguez added 12 points as four other Metropac-San Beda players notched double-digits in scoring in the win that allowed it to tie CEU at the top of the Foundation Group at 6-1.
The Movers were in total control of the game, forcing 26 turnovers on the White Stallions and turned them to 33 easy points.
The bench crew also stepped up for Metropac-San Beda, with the substitutes scoring 65 in the affair and took advantage of the extended garbage time.
CD14 Designs-Trinity suffered its seventh straight defeat to remain at the cellar of the group.
Kimley Medina topped the White Stallions with 17 points, as John Tayongtong got 14 points and five rebounds in the loss.
