FOLLOWING the end of Tanduay's campaign in the D-League Aspirants Cup on Tuesday, Mark Cruz said he is ready to listen to offers from PBA teams interested in his services.
Cruz said he will discuss options with his agent Danny Espiritu, now that Tanduay’s Aspirants Cup stint came to an end on Tuesday with a lopsided defeat against Cignal in their semifinal decider.
“Ngayon, dahil out na kami, makikipag-usap ako kay boss Danny, then tignan namin kung ano magagawa namin,” said the diminutive former Letran Knights star.
At least PBA one team, sources said, is interested in signing up Cruz, although the team didn’t want its interest made public during the D-League playoffs in deference to the Rhum Masters.
Cruz, who spent one season in the pro league after being picked by the Star Hotshots in the PBA rookie draft, is thrilled to attract interest from PBA teams with his impressive play in the D-League.
“Thankful ako kasi at least, na-appreciate nila ‘yung ginawa ko this conference. Pero siyempre, hindi pa ako magse-settle dun. Hindi ako mag-stop na mag-work out at mag-improve,” said Cruz.
Cruz, however, said he is willing to stay with Tanduay if he does not sign with a PBA team.
“Of course,” said Cruz, when asked if he wants to remain with Tanduay. “Sayang ‘yung opportunity namin na pumasok sa finals. Maybe it’s not our day.”
